ABOUT

Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, Amber Janelle Brown’s artistic experience is as diverse and exciting as her hometown.

Her pre-professional training began under the direction of Joy Delaney Capponi at Philadelphia Dance Theatre, and was further supplemented at the Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts.

Soon after that, Amber continued her studies at Point Park University. While at Point Park, Amber had the opportunity to train under contemporary greats such as Garfield Lemonius, Jason McDole, Judith Leifer-Bentz, Doug Bentz, and Ruben Graciani. Her training progressed continually in association with the Movement Invention Project, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, North Carolina School of the Arts, and the National Choreographic Intensive.

Since obtaining her B.A in Modern Dance with a minor in Business Marketing, Amber has found herself joyfully pulled into the exciting crossover between musical theatre and contemporary dance, having performed at The Fulton Theatre, Opera Philadelphia, The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, and Walnut Street Theatre. She attributes her love for telling stories, as well as her passionate and fluid movement style for the wide variety of artistic experiences she has had thus far.

Amber currently resides in New York City.

When she is not on stage you can find her obsessing over her dream revival of Kiss of the Spiderwoman, Patti Lupone's 8ness greatness, astrology, or working on her screenplay.
