ABOUT

Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, Amber Janelle Brown’s artistic experience is as diverse as the city that she calls home.  

Amber’s pre professional training began under the direction of Joy Delaney Capponi at Philadelphia Dance Theatre.  Such was furthered during her time at the Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts.  

 

Soon thereafter, Amber went on to Pittsburgh, PA to continue her studies at Point Park University.  While at Point Park, Amber had the opportunity to train under contemporary greats such as Garfield Lemonius, Jason McDole, Judith Leifer-Bentz, Doug Bentz, and Ruben Graciani.  Her training progressed continually in association with the Movement Invention Project, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, North Carolina School of the Arts, and the National Choreographic Intensive.  

 

Since obtaining her B.A in Modern Dance with a minor in Business Marketing, Amber has performed with The Fulton Theatre, Walnut Street Theatre, Opera Philadelphia, and The Kimmel Center for Performing Arts.  She attributes her passionate and fluid movement style to the wide variety of professional experiences she has had thus far.  

 

Amber currently resides in New York City.
